In an interview with Breitbart News, US National Security Advisor John Bolton said: `President Trump gave him (Chairman Kim) a number of options that the president considered a great deal.`
However, Mr. Bolton did not specify which `optional` options those were.
Mr. Bolton added: “In many respects, at the summit in Hanoi and even the previous one in Singapore, what the President did was leave the door open to North Korea and wanted to say:
The second summit between President Trump and Chairman Kim took place on February 27-28 in Hanoi.
“We gave them a clear definition (of nuclear disarmament).
In addition, the White House security advisor also mentioned China’s role as Beijing is an important trading partner of Pyongyang, as well as the need for Beijing to tighten sanctions on Pyongyang.
“For the past 20 years, China has always said that it does not want to see North Korea possess nuclear weapons.
The above comments were made in the context that President Trump’s administration yesterday imposed the first sanctions against North Korea since the second summit between Mr. Trump and Mr. Kim.
An announcement from the US Treasury Department on March 21 said that Washington had imposed sanctions on two Chinese shipping companies, Dalian Haibo and Liaoning Danxing, for helping North Korea circumvent US sanctions as well as the international community.
