Not long after launching the SN750 NVMe Black series SSD for gamers and streamers, Western Digital has continued to launch the Blue SSD hard drive line with the code name SN550, also with NVMe standard and maximum capacity of 1TB.
Typically, NVMe standard solid-state hard drives offer extremely high read and write speeds but are too expensive and not suitable for the needs of most users.
WD Blue SN550 NVMe 1TB: Good price but still `delicious` and `nutritious`?
In theory, the WD Blue SN550 1TB hard drive uses 3D NAND memory chips, with maximum sequential read/write speeds of 2,400 and 1,950MB/s respectively and durability of 600TB, more than enough for comfortable use.
WD SN550 is designed with printed circuit board on one side and does not integrate DRAM.
Also to reduce costs, the SN550 hard drive version does not have the option to integrate a heatsink.
Of course, the WD Blue SN550 1TB hard drive is also equipped with `official` management software that can be downloaded from WD’s website.

During several benchmark runs using CrystalDiskMark 7 software, the WD Blue SN550 1TB hard drive gave very positive results.
Of course, these numbers are for reference only, because the actual speed also depends on the hardware configuration of the user’s computer.
What about testing copying actual data?
As a user who has been attached to SATA SSDs and HDDs for a long time, switching to using NVMe standard hard drives like the SN550 is truly very different.
With a folder containing nearly 1,000 original JPEG photos from the camera, with a capacity of about 4GB, the hard drive takes more processing time and takes `up to` 10 seconds to complete the transfer, with a recording speed of about 600MB/hour.
Of course, the above results are just experimental, with data with extremely large capacity, up to several tens or hundreds of GB, it will require more processing and transmission time.
