(Dan Tri) – Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair assessed that Vietnam is a country rich in potential, full of attraction, and an important partner of the UK in the region.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on the afternoon of March 10 received and discussed with Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) on the occasion of his visit.
Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his joy at the good development of the Vietnam – UK strategic partnership and appreciated the UK’s interest in promoting cooperative relations with countries in the Asia – Thailand region.
Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated Mr. Tony Blair’s contributions during his term as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1997 – 2007) to the relationship between the two countries.
Minister Bui Thanh Son said that Vietnam attaches great importance to mobilizing and effectively using external resources for sustainable national development.
In the context that economic diplomacy is affirmed as a fundamental and central task of Vietnamese diplomacy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will step up support for ministries and branches.
Sharing Minister Bui Thanh Son’s opinions, Mr. Tony Blair expressed his joy in visiting Vietnam again and witnessing Vietnam’s impressive socio-economic changes.
